2. Setup requires a Samsung account

To turn Secure Folder on, you sign in with a Samsung account, and its backup runs through Samsung's cloud. That's a reasonable trade for a lot of people — but it does mean your private space is anchored to an identity and a company's servers. An account is, by definition, a copy of you living on someone else's computer.

3. The encrypted data can't come with you

This is the one that bites later. Because the container is bound to Knox and that specific device, there's no export path to another operating system. Sell the phone, switch to an iPhone, or buy a non-Samsung Android, and the contents don't migrate — they simply stay behind on hardware you no longer use.
